【IOP Special Colloquium: The 2026 Nobel Prize in Physics】
The 2026 Nobel Prize in Physics recognizes Prof. Francis Halzen’s contributions to the IceCube Neutrino Observatory and the discovery of high-energy cosmic neutrinos. Join Dr. Anatoli Fedynitch of the Institute of Physics, Academia Sinica, and a member of the IceCube Collaboration, to explore the science behind this achievement.
The colloquium will explain how IceCube detects cosmic neutrinos, what they reveal about their sources, and what lies ahead for neutrino astronomy. Photographs and firsthand stories from the speaker’s South Pole deployment seasons will offer a glimpse into how this extraordinary observatory is built and operated.
