Job Description:
Academia Sinica, Taiwan, seeks applicants for a Director of the Institute of Physics (IOP). Applicants who can demonstrate outstanding leadership in research and outreach in the relevant fields are encouraged to apply. The IOP is striving to conduct forefront physics research to explore and understand the physical world around us, and creating new knowledge, materials and technology to advance science and to benefit the society.
Current research areas can be grouped into three main categories: Quantum Materials Physics, Physics of Active and Biological Systems, Medium and High Energy Physics.

Qualification:
Individuals interested in this position should hold a doctorate (PhD and/or MD) degree, a distinguished academic reputation, diverse experiences in university and professional service, and a plan to pursue high impact research. The successful candidate will be expected to build on the existing strengths of the institute, create synergy between research groups, and provide intellectual leadership in the fundamental science research in Taiwan.
