1. Group Membership: Approved by the TPS board of directors. Have paid Group Membership Dues. Group Membership has voting rights, suffrage, the right to be candidates, and the right to recall. Each Group Membership has one vote. Each group should assign one individual as the representative. Group Membership can receive the bimonthly newsletter from TPS and attend TPS conferences and meetings.
2. Life Membership: Recommended by two TPS members and approved by the TPS board of directors. Have paid Life Membership Dues. Life Membership has voting rights, suffrage, the right to be candidates, and the right to recall. Each Life Membership has one vote. Life Membership has reciprocal membership privileges. Life Membership can receive the bimonthly newsletter from TPS and Physics Today from the American Institute of Physics (AIP). Life Membership can also attend TPS conferences and meetings.
3. Student Membership: Recommended by two TPS members and approved by the TPS board of directors. Possess the certificate of student status and have paid Student Membership Dues. Student Membership can join the TPS Student Chapter and attend TPS conferences and meetings. Student Membership can receive the bimonthly newsletter from TPS and Physics Today from the American Institute of Physics (AIP).
4. Standard Membership: Recommended by two TPS members and approved by the TPS board of directors. Has paid Standard Membership Dues. Standard Membership has voting rights, suffrage, the right to be candidates, and the right to recall. Each Membership has one vote. Standard Membership has reciprocal membership privileges and can receive the bimonthly newsletter from TPS and Physics Today from the American Institute of Physics (AIP). Standard Membership can attend TPS conferences and meetings.

Standard Membership will expire at yearend. Regardless of when the membership was registered, the expiration date will be on December 31 of the year. According to the bilateral agreement with the American Physical Society (APS), TPS membership should be registered before the TPS Annual Meeting to receive Physics Today of the year.
